1. Obtaining the NVR Software Serial Number

To add your NVR to DMSS, you’ll require its software serial number. This number can be found on the datasheet provided with your system. Access the serial number by navigating to the main menu on your NVR, then select the network option located towards the bottom. From there, choose the P2P/Easy4IP option on the left-hand side.

2. Installing the DMSS App on Apple or Android

We highly recommend using the DMSS app for our systems. While older versions like iDMSS or gDMSS may still function, they’re no longer receiving updates. You can easily download DMSS from the Play Store or App Store. This tutorial demonstrates the process on an Android device. While the steps will be similar on an Apple device, there might be variations in permissions requested during installation.

         

3. App Permissions

When you first open the app and when you use certain features later on, it may request specific permissions. For example, to save videos or snapshots from your NVR, the app requires access to your device’s photo and media permissions. Similarly, if you want to view videos while using cellular data, the app needs permission to access your data.

4. Introduction Slides & Region Select

Swipe through the brief introduction images, then set the region for your app. The proper region should be selected by default.

5. Sign In, Introduction Video, and Button Adjustments

You don’t have to sign in or create a DMSS account. If you’re transferring devices from gMDSS/iDMSS to DMSS, there’s a video tutorial available. You have the option to watch it or skip it. The app will prompt you to adjust the order of the main function buttons. To exit the hint, simply tap anywhere on the screen.
